Saint-Saturnin-Lès-Apt
Saint-Saturnin-Lès-Apt is one of the little hidden gems that make Provence so special. The pace of life here is unhurried, as befits a village with close to 1,000 years of history. And best of all, it’s unspoiled – one of the reasons we are so happy to call it home.
Spend a few hours strolling around. Sample the delights at the wonderful bakeries. Sit at one of the three cafés and do some people-watching. Perhaps a game of pétanque. And definitely not to be missed, walk up to the castle ruins above the village for some of the best views to be found anywhere in the Luberon.
We are lucky to have a number of excellent restaurants, a well-stocked grocery store, a green grocer, a butcher – in short, all life’s essentials. And the market on Tuesday morning is well worth a visit – small and quaint – a different experience compared to the huge and boisterous markets in Apt or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be spoiled by the many miles of hiking and biking trails in the surrounding hills. Or just take a walk along the back-country roads through vineyards and orchards and lavender fields.
